Daycamp is a Seacamp program offered to children ages 10-13 who live in the middle and lower Florida Keys. It is also an excellent opportunity for children whose families are visiting the Florida Keys. Week-long sessions are offered, and each session runs from Monday to Friday. Drop off is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. The program starts at 9:00 am. Pick up is between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm. A picnic-style lunch is provided to campers daily.
Located in Big Pine Key, Florida, the Daycamp science program educates campers about the distinct marine environment by exploring our surrounding areas. Campers will explore these unique locations through snorkeling, wading, and kayaking excursions. Each week will offer a different science theme. The science program is taught by our academically trained science instructors, who hold degrees in Marine Biology, Biology, or another related science field(s). All of the instructors are certified in Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
In addition to the science program, the Daycamp campers spend their week participating in fun and exciting activities such as fisheries science, windsurfing, games, arts & crafts, and swimming. Family and friends of Daycampers are invited to join in the fun by attending a campfire one evening during the week. The campers will perform skits, sing songs, and make s’mores.
